I am working exclusively with a great organisation based in Chelmsford who are looking for a permanent Employee Relations Manager to join their great team. The role reports into the Head of HR, the Employee Relations Manager is responsible for the provision of smooth and efficient delivery of a high quality, comprehensive HR advice and administrative service to the business.

The role will be tasked with driving performance management across the Employee Relations Team, reviewing procedures, processes and service levels, implementing improvements where necessary.

The role includes but is not limited to:

Lead the development of organisational capability through good people management, including the training, development, mentoring and coaching of team members.

Develop and evolve the HR management information, equipping the Employee Relations team with the tools and analytics to deliver an efficient and effective HR service across the organisation that is business focused and supports growth

To collate ER team MI with wider HR team reports to present to the Head of HR as required, and to lead on ad hoc reporting such as gender pay gap and annual pay reviews.

To oversee HR Advisor/BP case management progress, supporting efficient and positive outcomes in disciplinary, capability, probation, flexible working, appeals and Employment Tribunal (etc) cases as required.

Coach, support, mentor and advise Senior Management and HR Advisors on dealing with complex or high-risk employee issues such as: disciplinary, grievance, investigations, absence, sickness, performance management, appeals, communicating appropriately with relevant stakeholders, such as the Compliance team

Provide managers with training and development guidance on development for themselves and their teams. Work with the training and development function on provision of development activities and the formation of development plans.

They are looking for someone who has experience in successfully leading and developing a diverse team. Experience working in a unionised environment and understand TUPE (ideally with experience managing TUPE transfers both in and out of an organisation).

Please note there will be occasional travel to other sites with this role, typically this is for high risk cases or cases which have been escalated and need further support.
