About the opportunity

The segment analytics lead role sits within the People Analytics & Insight team, a highly visible organisation in BP. You’ll primarily focus on leading a team of experienced people analysts, who are supporting the business in delivering against the strategic people agendas. Here, you’ll also develop close strategic partnerships with HR VPs, including their extended leadership teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity that will enhance your ability to be a centre of excellence, while providing guidance and best practice advice on people analytics and management information across BP.

About you

An expert in analysing and interpreting data and information, you add valuable insights into the business and think in a clear and logical manner. Taking pride in your communication skills, gives you the ability to influence and build trust with senior management and executive level stakeholders.

You’re digitally fluent, and competent in using technology that enables new ways of working and thinking. Comfortable in the wider digital environment, you’re not afraid to deal with business transformations - including people, processes and data-driven actions. Also, you’re highly aware of data privacy guidelines and laws, and operate with sensitivity across cultural boundaries.

Your track record proves the ability to make value-adding decisions, that prioritise the customer and business strategy. Furthermore, your understanding of people analytics and data management best practices will help you guide other leaders, through choices that best suit the business requirements.

As a segment analytics lead, you’ll drive the people analytics agenda in BPs Upstream, Downstream, Alternative Energy, Corporate and Trading organisations. You’ll also ensure that management information and analytics projects are delivered in an innovative, accurate and timely way.

As a leader, you’ll provide your team with expert MI and analytics support on tasks such as:

  • Creating bespoke analytics projects to drive insight and improve processes
  • Supporting wider projects such as re-organisations with deep dive analytics to reinforce fact-based decisions
  • Managing and improving a standard suite of monthly/ quarterly/ annual dashboards.

Additionally, you’ll partner up with other teams and service delivery partners to develop and maintain reporting data, tools or systems.

Degree-qualified (preferably in mathematics, statistics or data science), you have experience in delivering medium and/or big-scale projects to senior management or executive level stakeholders. Finally, you have the ability to understand business requirements and translate those into people data outputs.
