Job Details

At BP, we’re striving to meet growing global demand for safe, sustainable and affordable energy. That means creating a more efficient, streamlined business that makes the best possible use of all its resources, including human resources.

We know that HR plays a key role in enhancing BP’s businesses and delivering our priorities. That’s why we’re always on the lookout for amazing professionals who are commercially aware, solutions-focused and driven to deliver value within our HR department, to the entire business.

About the opportunity

A leader and innovator, you’ll build a small, high-performing team, alongside which you’ll develop great solutions for formal learning, leveraging the latest leading methodologies. While it’s a technical role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring BP’s workforce is compliant and fit to work on our assets and within our businesses.

As HR innovation manager, you’ll be accountable for building a culture of creative thinking and informed risk for all those involved in Learning Services. You’ll be responsible for continuously challenging the status quo, researching current practices and coming up with new solutions.

You’ll schedule and set up lab sessions and events, tracking ideas and coordinating with external parties. Among other tasks, you’ll be asked to build an ‘ideation engine’, to consolidate ideas from various stakeholders. These ideas will then translate further into experiments and projects that will deliver great business solutions.

Furthermore, you’ll be planning and facilitating design-thinking, identifying sources for insights, reframing challenges and prepping projects for deployment by other teams.

Working with the GPO, you’ll also manage decisions around the Learning Services Operating Model including strategic sourcing design, strategic vendor decisions and the Learning Services catalogue. Additionally, in order to build the best possible pipeline of enhancement and features, you’ll hold the change controls for the model and the associated processes.

About you

You’ll bring us significant learning process or learning system implementation and maintenance experience, including process design or engineering. Your strong willingness to organise and facilitate people through all the stages of the creative process will add even more to your proven track record of taking things to the next level.

Up-to-date with the latest start-up methodologies, your entrepreneurial and strong organisational skills have pushed you to experiment with tech innovation techniques in the past. These traits will help you even further in your role, when discovering relevant industry insights in the entire formal learning value chain.

You take pride in your ability to work collaboratively and know how to manage impact on others. You’re actively aware of your team’s morale and constructively raise it whenever needed. Ultimately, your good written and verbal communication skills help you guide others with ease and integrity.

Degree-qualified (or equivalent) and digitally fluent, you will work with technology teams to build high-quality digital products and solutions. You must also have significant learning process or learning system implementation and maintenance experience.

Keep advancing your career as you help our business meet the challenges of the future. Apply now.

Learn about HR at BP

At BP, we’re focused on the future. We know it will take commitment, collaboration and creativity to meet the challenges ahead, both for our business and the wider energy industry. And we are determined to ensure affordable and sustainable energy in a way that keeps our environment safe. Our HR operation is just one part of a global drive for modernisation that will streamline our business and deliver efficiencies across the board.  Making the most of our people needs managing just as thoughtfully as we manage other energy sources.

Global HR Services

Self-service is the new normal for routine HR processes. By streamlining and automating much of day-to-day HR administration, we’ve empowered BP employees to take control. This means that our HR people can focus on what they do best – customer services that cover complex queries and transactions that require thought, intelligence and creativity.

HR Services is an internal global shared services organisation at the heart of this change. The team is made up of policy and process experts, working from a number of centralised delivery centres. They enhance the customer experience by providing the business area they’re supporting with dedicated expertise. HR Services also implement new technology and processes to improve overall efficiency.

This is a chance to think deeply about how human resources works and how it could work even better. By expanding your knowledge and experience of current HR thinking and customer-focused service delivery, you’ll build a great foundation for a future career.

See below for a selection of our current opportunities.

We are continually looking for talented, committed and ambitious people to help us shape the face of energy for the future.
