We are exciting to be working with our Educational client in their search for an interim Head of HR to join them in a 6-12 month contract based near St James Park. Reporting to the Bursar you will have overall responsibility for a team of 3 and be able to start in March.

The successful candidate will have achieved a good standard of education to degree level and as a minimum be CIPD Level 7 qualified. Have experience either as a senior member of a large HR team or will have worked in a standalone role in a relevant sector could with sound knowledge of GDPR.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be confident advising managers on employment law and employee relations issues.

About the role

Succession Planning
Advising on staff benefits, compensations and settlement agreements
Advising on planning, restructuring and organisational redevelopment
Advising on redundancies and alternative employment
Advising on current and emerging employment legislation
Advising on Maternity and Paternity leave and Flexible Working
Advising on staff welfare and long term sickness
Making Occupational Health referrals and managing outcomes
Devising performance evaluation strategies so that the HR Manager can complete the annual performance reviews
Exit interviews
Managing budgets for Recruitment and for Administrative & Support Staff Training
Disciplinary hearings, grievances or appeals where appropriate

About you

Available to start in March
Previous experience working in the Education sector preferred
Degree Educated
CIPD level 7 - essential
