As the Employee Relations Lead for this company based near Amersham, your focus will be to provide first class Employee Relations advisory support, providing advice both face to face, via email and telephone to employees across The Group of Companies. Another key focus will be to coach and up-skill line managers in ER situations. You will also manage both TUPE in and TUPE out.

Overall

As the Employee Relations Lead for this company based near Amersham, your focus will be to provide first class Employee Relations (ER) advisory support, providing advice both face to face, via email and telephone to employees across The Group of Companies.

You will have the ability to build rapport and credibility and trust with employees and manage relationships with third parties e.g. ACAS and Trade Union representatives is critical and all advice given will balance HR best practice with a commercial business focus.

Key Detail

This is an Employee Relations specialist role, providing first class ER advisory support to managers and employees across multiple sites in the UK. You can expect to be travelling several times per week around the UK in the delivery of this role.

This will include:

- Disciplinaries, Grievances, Performance Management, Sickness Absence, Long term ill-health capability, Flexible working, TUPE, Probations, Family, Annual and Special Leave (e.g. Jury service, sabbaticals etc), Variations to Contracts, Equality & Diversity (including harassment), Mediation and conciliation, Dismissals including redundancy.

- There will also be a major focus in this role on up-skilling and coaching line managers to better equip them in the future to deal with and manage these ER situations.

- Lastly, this person will also be responsible for TUPE (both in and out) on an ongoing basis. As a snapshot, they have seen 3 TUPEs in the last 6 months.

Profile

Experience and Knowledge

  • In depth current employment law knowledge with evidence of continued professional development.
  • Good understanding of common HR policies and practices.
  • Understanding of Healthcare would be an advantage.
  • Comfortable and confident in providing first line advice across a broad spectrum of HR activity.
  • Evidence of coaching managers across the full range of employee relations matters.
  • Experience of working to multiple tight and statutory deadlines with conflicting priorities .
  • Demonstrable experience of handling complex ER issues to resolution.
  • Experience of the management of TUPE transfers (in and out) including provision of ELI information and consultations.
  • Able to evidence sound commercial decision making.
  • Sound understanding of recruitment practices with evidence of application.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent of 7 years plus experience.
  • Associated Member of CIPD working towards Chartered Member.

Skills and Behaviours

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Good influencing, listening, communication, mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Experience of delivering HR related training to a group of Line Managers.
  • Able to use own initiative and remain motivated when working alone, as well as part of a team.
  • Effective time management.
  • Resilient and able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Versatile (able to stand in for other team members in Administration and Recruitment as may be required).

Due to the travel requirements of this role it is essential that the post holder has a full clean driving license with access to a car.
