Principal Accountabilities:

  • Support the Business Units to communicate and translate People strategies
  • Understand the business priorities and support these with strategic and operational people plans to engage with key stakeholders across the business
  • Work closely with the Head of People to deliver a World Class People service by providing day to day proactive advisory support to Team Members and managers, building and maintaining strong relationships across the Company
  • Work closely with the Head of People, to design and implement key People initiatives/projects and ensure these are embedded successfully
  • Taking an active role to ensure Team Members are educated on People policies and processes, reviewing and updating all policies in line with current legislation and best practice
  • Working alongside Head of People to provide support in annual core People processes, such as salary review, bonus review, promotions, appraisals, talent review etc.
  • Managing employee relations case work end to end, including grievances and disciplinaries
  • Working with external Payroll Bureau provider on the processing and payment of the monthly payroll
  • Ensuring that our HRIS, spreadsheets and trackers are kept up to date and all information is recorded correctly so data integrity is maintained
  • Maintain the People department budget for training and recruitment
  • Ensure the tender and request for authorization process is followed for all People Team expenditure
  • Responsible for ensuring the recruitment process is followed and that the candidate experience is World Class for internal and external candidates
  • Work alongside key business stakeholders to build people plans and ensure that performance management is embedded into the culture alongside the Head of People
  • Ensure that the performance management KPI system is being used effectively, business KPI's are set and mid-year and year-end reviews conducted. Communicate, support and coach managers as appropriate
  • Advise and coach line managers on performance management, including support with performance improvement plans, personal development plans, guiding on the KPI process and assisting with training delivery to managers
  • Coach and support managers and employees on career management and employee development

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge and practical skills in applying UK employment law
  • Able to demonstrate solid practical experience of performing successfully in an HR generalist role in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in supporting change and organizational development programmes
  • Experience in managing and advising the business on employee relations cases
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects and priorities and detail orientation
  • Demonstrates a passion for customer service and a flexible approach to working supportively with others in the achievement of the overall Company goals
  • Detail orientated with a high level of Employment Legislation and Best Practice knowledge
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload and show good judgement under pressure
  • Experience of reporting and analysis
  • High level of communication skills, written and verbal
  • Innovative and forward thinking team player
