Job Details

Eyzon are thrilled to be retained by Leeds Beckett University to recruit this important role as a part of the reshaping of their People Team.

Leeds Beckett University is an inclusive, vibrant workplace with ambitious plans for the future. We are one of the largest employers in the city and our mission is to be an excellent, accessible and globally engaged university, contributing positively to a thriving northern economy. We know that tomorrow’s challenges won’t be addressed by today’s thoughts, approaches and mindsets.

Our new People Strategy has a clear aim: the building of a committed, capable community of people who are proud to work for our University. This gives us a platform to work with senior stakeholders and deliver transformational change in support of both our people and our University strategy and to engage in rewarding, meaningful work.

Are you strategic, people-focussed and proactive, looking to make a real difference to the future of our colleagues and students? Are you a team player and seeking the opportunity to innovate, collaborate and shape organisational culture?

The Associate Director of Employee Relations is a strategic role with leadership and management responsibility for the implementation of a best in class employee relations strategy.  Operating within the Senior People Leadership Team, this role works closely with Deans and Directors to provide strategic and operational input that delivers the People Strategy, meets the needs of our Schools and Services and enables and builds line manager capability to manage their own people.

The post holder will be responsible for the development of values-led Employee Relations, promoting a positive climate of ER and a culture of engagement across our University by providing leadership and direction to our People Partners and an ER Manager who is supported by a team of People Advisers.  Working together, these teams are the main point of contact for strategic and operational people advice, case management, organisational change processes, dispute resolution and problem solving for University colleagues and our Union partners.

This is an exciting time to join the newly formed People Team, transforming the nature of people conversations across our University within a fast-paced, stimulating and supportive environment. If this sounds like an intriguing opportunity and you’d like to be part of our journey, we’d like to hear more about you.
