The HR Manager will join on a Temp-to-Perm basis, working 3 days a week in a standalone role.

Our client is a growing Children's Charity with operations across London

Description

The HR Manager will work with the CEO, Operational Directors and Trustees to develop and establish the HR strategy, ensuring that its employees deliver a professional and supportive service to their beneficiaries.

The main duties involve:

  • Developing HR processes, policies and procedures in line with strategic plans and compliance requirements, ensuring these are communicated effectively to the organisation
  • Developing safer recruitment and onboarding practices for all vacancies and new hires
  • Manage complex ER casework including dispute resolution, disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance management, redundancy and retirement
  • Coaching managers on how to effectively resolve employee issues
  • Advising on best practice in relation to pay and benefits, ensuring that the charity's pay and remuneration is competitive and in line with the organisation's mission
  • Assisting the Finance team with the monthly payroll and pension run
  • Assisting the CEO with the development of training and professional development across the charity
  • Promoting health and safety and employee well-being to ensure a happy, committed workforce and compliance with regulation and best practice
  • Promote a culture of equal opportunities throughout the organisation

Profile

We're looking for an HR Manager with the following skills and experience:

    • Degree and MCIPD qualified (or equivalent experience)

    • Significant experience of working as a generalist HR Manager, preferably on a standalone basis

    • Experience of leading organisational change processes (restructures, TUPE)

    • Previous experience of working in a charity is desirable

    • Strong knowledge and practical experience of safer recruitment practices

    • Demonstrable experience of managing complex ER cases

    • Excellent coaching skills

  • Strong team working skills

Job Offer

Temp to perm contract, May 2019 start, Daily rate equivalent to £50,000 FTE (£250 Umbrella/LTD).

3 days a week
