Supercharge and Future Proof Your Recruitment Strategies at IHRE24 Summit
We’re getting ready for the IHRE24 Summit on 8th October! Now in our seventh year, the In-House Recruitment Summit is returning to the iconic venue of Edgbaston Stadium - scene of many heroic sporting achievements - and we have curated a winning line-up of sessions, speakers, sourcing and resourcing experts, exhibitors and partners to educate, enlighten, illustrate and embolden all In-House recruiters. Our suppliers will be on hand to demonstrate the latest products, services, tools and strategies to help you attract, hire, develop and retain the talent you need to propel your businesses into 2025 and beyond.
2024 has been a challenging year for the In-House Recruitment sector. Budgets have been squeezed, leading to uncertainty and recruiter attrition, yet hiring needs have escalated, leaving the sector looking for. The growth of AI into the sourcing, interviewing and selection process has given recruiters a powerful tool and ally, but also a potential threat as organisations are able to be more flexible on headcount, leading to smaller teams, and potentially less innovation, at a time when the number of applications are growing. The increase in fractional working, and skills-based hiring, has also created a more holistic view of skills and capabilities across the organisation and ultimately, not all skills will be supplied by humans.
Help is at hand! At the IHRE24 Summit we will be showcasing the latest research, thinking, insights and solutions, to help support and embolden In-House recruitment teams to be able to attract the talent and knowledge that their businesses need. We will be joined by an impressive group of knowledgeable speakers, including managers, leaders, practitioners, analysts, consultants and recruitment technologists, as well as our media partners PT Jobs The HR World and OnRec.
Amongst the speakers delivering Masterclass sessions we are pleased to welcome Marisol Milsom, from Recruitment & HR consultancy HR Biscuit, who will talk about finding the right balance between technology and humanity to reduce attrition and improve the quality, consistency and inclusivity of hiring decisions. Matt Ingram-Smith from Tribepad will use insights gained from over 2 million applications - and almost 70,000 hires - to tell us what the data shows about bias in our recruitment processes, and whether candidates are right to be worried. Talent Recognition, through their TR Recruiter tool, will be showing us how to eliminate bias and understand a candidate’s true potential, whilst Matthew Bond, from Get Borderless, will help you develop an International Workforce Strategy, whilst exploring recent Government policy changes. He will also explain why sponsorship should play an even more vital role in your workforce strategy and offer guidance on maintaining Home Office compliance.
Also, in the Masterclass theatre we will find out more about streamlining and enhancing candidate onboarding, from Matt Phillips of Rightcheck, and Colin Minto - also known as The Burnout Beater - offers practical advice about building mental fitness and resilience to help preventing burnout. Author and analyst Mervyn Dinnen talks about ‘Why Retention is the New Recruitment’ whilst Jacob Hill, Rik Willis and Dom Dingle, from Offploy CIC, cover an important topic that’s rarely discussed - how to safely recruit top talent who have prior criminal convictions. They start with the question “1 in 4 people of working age have a criminal record in the UK. Are your processes inadvertently putting them off from applying for your roles?”
Across in the Seminar theatre, Emma Parry from Cranfield School of Management, will offer advice on how to future proof the employee experience so it is suitable for the changing world of work, and what the implications for future workforce attitudes. Experienced recruiter Emily Beredugo will talk us through the evolution of the Talent Acquisition towards high-value, strategic resourcing, creating a greater driver of competitive advantage. And in our 10th anniversary year, our keynote panel of Emma Parry, Colin Minto and Mervyn Dinnen will be debating how in-house recruitment has evolved over the last 10 years in a session entitled ‘From LI to AI - 10 Years in In-House Recruitment’. Meanwhile Emily Moffat, founder of Basecamp Talent, will talk about how to empower internal recruiters.
In light of the recent UK general election, one crucial session will be delivered by Ian Jones, from employment solicitors Spencer Shaw, about the promised new employment legislation form the incoming Government, outlining the expected key developments employers should be aware of, as well as discussing how employers can prepare for their new obligations. Experience design is one of the crucial skills needed to attract, and retain, the emerging workforce and Jason Tunney, Head of Talent at So Energy, will be talking about how to use human-centred design to enhance candidate, and employee, experience. Paul Mudd, from TRS Staffing Solutions, will cover the best ways to communicate vacancies in an inclusive way, to support your social value and increase the engagement of a diverse pool of talent which, in turn, helps to take advantage of the potential of the future skills economy.
As well as our enlightening group of speakers, we will also be offering a broad range of suppliers, ready to support your recruitment objectives. Check out Borderless whose immigration platform makes sponsorship so much easier. Also talk to Offploy who can advise on how to recruit safely from the 4,000+ people who have convictions but are ready to take advantage of a chance to achieve their career goals.
We will be welcoming Tribepad - recently awarded the Enterprise ATS of the Year 2024 award - to showcase their range of tools and reports that helps hiring to be fairer and faster.
