Supercharge Your Recruitment Achievements at the InHouse Recruitment Summit 22!!
It’s almost time for the InHouse Recruitment Summit! For the 5th year we will be in Birmingham to bring you a specially curated day of seminars and masterclasses that will cover the whole spectrum of how to attract, interview, assess and hire the talent that your business needs, along with some of the best suppliers and technology solutions to supercharge your recruiting teams.
Our venue will once again be Birmingham’s iconic Edgbaston Stadium, scene of many great sporting moments. It offers complimentary, all-day free car parking with space for over 600 cars, whilst train stations are also located just over a mile away from the venue.
For this event we are pleased to welcome Global programmatic specialists Appcast as our Gold sponsors. Our bronze sponsors are the InHouse Recruitment and Diversity specialists Instant Impact, whilst the Royal National Institute for the Blind are our event’s DE&I sponsors. And, for the for time as an event supporter, we are proud to welcome The Ladder Foundation, who work with stakeholders to champion apprenticeships, and the positive long term positive effect they can have on individuals, communities, and organisations.
Our Summit will be taking place during potentially turbulent times. Political and economic uncertainty surrounds our sector whilst our day-to-day processes are being further disrupted, and enhanced, by a proliferation of new solutions involving data, analytics and Artificial Intelligence. Research tells us that the mental health of our people is worsening whilst concerns over financial wellbeing disrupts sleep and performance and might lead to many of our people moving to other organisations, which itself could place further pressure on over stretched recruitment teams.
To help steer you though uncertain times we have lined up one of our strongest, and most insightful, programmes of seminars and masterclasses. Leading off our seminar sessions will be Robin Stander from our gold sponsors Appcast, offering a practical guide for how recruiting leaders can adapt their strategies, embracing a more flexible approach. He will be presenting the most recent data on hiring landscape and look at how high volume hiring can utilise a range of tactics, with the power of programmatic job advertising helping to attract more talent and increase ROI. Dan Wells from Talent Point will be talking about interviewing, how to use contextualised questions and looking for ‘culture add’ as opposed to ‘culture fit’.
We will have sessions on candidate experience. Jonathan Holdsworth from Rolls Royce will offer his perspectives on why it is failing and the three things that can help to make a difference. Author and talent analyst Mervyn Dinnen will guide us through a Masterclass using data on what candidates really think of their experiences and what they really want from a good candidate experience. With personalisation is very much an ongoing trend and in a second session (in the Seminar theatre) Mervyn will also look at how personalised experiences are the key to attracting the talent you need. With candidate flow still a problem, Maxine Blake from Lancashire Council will talk about utilising the power of social media to make the most of existing resourcing channels.
Raj Hunjan of Checkpoint will take us through the talent journey from interviewing to offer and then on to onboarding, looking at how communication throughout the process can ensure that you hire the people you need. Meanwhile Felix Mitchell, from our bronze sponsors Instant Impact, will talk about the evolving area of DE & I, with a focus on some of the trends he is expecting to see in 2023. The closing Masterclass session will be another must see presentation as James May from the global human capital, recruitment, and IT services organisation Tekwissen, talks us through how the Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) sector should evolve in the post pandemic era.
Too many organisations are still ignoring their existing internal talent pool, and we will hear from Tove Moulton of video software provider Synamedia about why Internal Mobility must be a priority, and how her organisation were able to make simple changes to encourage internal applications. Tara O'Brien from Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust will take us through their journey moving from reactive vacancy filling to proactive strategic talent planning in a must-see session for anyone looking to undertake the same journey.
Most businesses are now aware of the negative impact that poor mental wellbeing can have on their people, but there is little consistency in the support offered. In our closing seminar Maria Deaville-Harrop from University of Manchester will offer practical guidance, drawing on personal experiences, on how to address this issue and support your recruitment teams. Earlier in the day, our DE&I even supporter’s Colin Shales, who is registered blind, will share his story of working in technology support roles, and will tell you how to reach untapped talent who have sight loss.
With so much advice, insight, research, and practical guidance across the who day, no recruiter can afford to miss the InHouse Recruitment Summit in Birmingham. Not least because we will also be offering the opportunity to have a digital detox AND a 5-minute massage!
