There’s Still Time to Book Your Place for Learning, Networking and Free Headshots at IHRE Summit 24!

Published on: 1 Oct 2024

It’s the final few days before we lift the curtain on the 2024 In-House Recruitment Summit – for our 7-year anniversary – and welcome you all to the renowned venue of Birmingham’s Edgbaston Stadium, scene of many exciting sporting triumphs over the years! Have you registered for your free entrance yet? If not then make sure you do so today to secure your place in our masterclasses and seminars, and to meet a wide range of vendors and partners who can help you.

This year’s summit will draw insights and wisdom from a wide range of speakers, organisations, vendors and experiences, to help you plan for your talent strategies as we enter 2025.

The stadium has free parking (though you should get there early to grab your spot) and for the energetic, it’s a 35-minute walk away from Birmingham New Street, though you can get there much quicker in a cab, which will be in plentiful supply outside the station!

And as this year marks 10 Years of In-House Recruitment Expo events we are treating everyone to a complimentary photo from the Headshot Guy! Make sure you celebrate with us by getting a headshot that will really help you stand out. But you will need to get there early!

With the emergence of Gen Z fully into the workforce, and Generation Alpha not far behind them, we are pleased to be able to host Shona Taylor from UCAS, with advice on how to strengthen, and amplify, your employer brand to attract these emerging generations. We recommend you attend this session as she will be sharing findings from their extensive survey of over 1,000 people aged 13-17 to understand how they will go about making their decisions for the future, what they are planning, how they explore career pathways and, most importantly, what support they will need to get there.

Too much hiring is still reactive, so we are very happy to be able to host Natacha Pomorski, founder of TalentArc. They deliver comprehensive people strategies, workforce planning, resourcing solutions, ED&I and attraction strategies to help organisations build strong and sustainable recruitment teams, that can operate in inclusive and values-driven environments.

Are your application and attraction strategies biased? If you can’t honestly answer that in a positive way then make sure you get along to ’Stop the Bias’, a masterclass session from Matt Ingram-Smith of award-winning recruitment software specialists Tribepad. Also, in the Masterclass Theatre you can hear Matt Phillips from Rightcheck talk about how to leverage Digital ID for onboarding in modern organisations, and Matthew Bond (from Get Borderless) talk about the benefits and challenges of building and developing an International Workforce.

In the Summit sessions Ian Jones, from lawyers Spencer Shaw, will talk about some of the changes to employment law we can expect from the new Labour Government, whilst the recruitment team at learning disabilities charity Mencap, will share their experiences of their 4 year journey to transform and re-invent recruitment within the organisation.

The In_House Recruitment Summit isn’t all about the learning though! There will be ample opportunities to network in our networking lounge, and share ideas and experiences, with refreshments available all day. And, to help you relax, we will also be hosting two seated yoga sessions at 10.30 and 14.15 – with our instructor Kallika – whilst you can also indulge yourself with a 10-minute neck and shoulder massage in our productivity lounge.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Edgbaston!
