Are you interested in heading up HR for the Logistics division of a well-known consumer focused brand, with exciting plans for the future? If so, then this could be the perfect career move for you.

Our client is an AIM listed business that is growing rapidly and reshaping the landscape in it’s sector. Under the leadership of a CEO who is truly committed to the importance of people and capability, and is personally engaged in bringing to life a unique culture and colleague proposition, they have strengthened their senior leadership team across most of their brands and functions in the last couple of years, there’s now an opportunity to do so within HR.

The business is in a great place, and has ambitious (and achievable) plans for further growth. It’s proud of its heritage yet modern in its approach and values people who have passion, customer focus and agility and a keen desire to deliver excellence every day.

They’re a fast-moving, people centric organisation employing some of the brightest and best in their specialist sector.  They are massively customer focused seeking to delight their consumers all the time, whichever their route to market.

Their goal is clear; it’s about taking what is already a very successful business to the next level and maximising returns by driving up revenues in new and existing markets.  It’s looking to maximise operational and organisational efficiencies, particularly within Logistics and is focussing on organisational structure, people capability, development, succession and organisational culture.

The recently appointed Group HR Director is now looking for a first-class Head of HR to join the HR Leadership Team and support the HR agenda.  Heading up HR for their Logistics division you will also be a key part of the Logistics Executive team.  The Group Logistics Director (Board level role) will be your key relationship and you will create and deliver the people strategy for the division. This is an extremely  high profile role, as the success of this division has a fundamental impact on the performance of the Group.

This role will work across the UK. With three office locations being Crewe, Bristol and London (Primrose Hill), you’ll need to be able to visit these sites on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will have the support of a lean yet hard working and committed HR team so won’t mind the fact that there isn’t a large corporate infrastructure around them.  In fact, they are likely to come from environments or organisations where “rolling up one’s sleeves” is the norm.   You’ll need experience of working in the Logistics sector or a sector whose employees share similar characteristics. You’ll also have a track record in establishing productive ER relationships.

The environment is exceptionally fast paced which means the HR team is required to work in the same way. Whilst making strategic decisions you will also be rolling up your sleeves to “get stuff done”. You will have strong technical experience to draw on and also have the capacity to be practical, creative and pragmatic in the way HR is led and gets done in the business.

Why are we so excited about helping our client recruit their new Head of HR for this fast moving division?  What’s so different about them and this opportunity?

When you meet the leaders who run this well-known ambitious business, then their focus, sharpness, dedication and drive for success can’t fail to impress.  It’s an exciting opportunity in an acquiring, growing, transforming business.

And what will the business offer in return?  Quite simply, the opportunity to be the new Head of HR of a key business area whose success is fundamental to the success of the business and where drive and passion are the norm! What more could you want?
