The recently appointed Group HR Director is now looking for a first-class Head of HR to join the HR Leadership Team and support the HR agenda. Heading up HR for their Logistics division you will also be a key part of the Logistics Executive team. The Group Logistics Director (Board level role) will be your key relationship and you will create and deliver the people strategy for the division. This is an extremely high profile role, as the success of this division has a fundamental impact on the performance of the Group.
This role will work across the UK. With three office locations being Crewe, Bristol and London (Primrose Hill), you’ll need to be able to visit these sites on a regular basis.
The successful candidate will have the support of a lean yet hard working and committed HR team so won’t mind the fact that there isn’t a large corporate infrastructure around them. In fact, they are likely to come from environments or organisations where “rolling up one’s sleeves” is the norm. You’ll need experience of working in the Logistics sector or a sector whose employees share similar characteristics. You’ll also have a track record in establishing productive ER relationships.
The environment is exceptionally fast paced which means the HR team is required to work in the same way. Whilst making strategic decisions you will also be rolling up your sleeves to “get stuff done”. You will have strong technical experience to draw on and also have the capacity to be practical, creative and pragmatic in the way HR is led and gets done in the business.
