A great opportunity has arisen working for a leading Essex construction related business, based at their head office in Chelmsford.

They are looking for a Training Manager to take the lead in developing their Apprenticeship programme. Someone who can maximise the use of the two Apprentice Levies that they pay, working with the business in identifying new apprentice opportunities and ensuring that they claim all available funding from external bodies.

The Training Manager will have responsibility and accountability for taking a pro-active approach to the utilisation of the levies. You will be responsible for championing the management and leadership apprentice programme. This will include coordinating with business leads on identifying, enrolling and supporting employees on these programmes.
Key duties and responsibilities

• Be key point of contact for all Apprenticeship, Training and Graduate scheme matters.
• Pro-actively engage with teams to maximise the training provision across all contracts.
• Assist in the production of company training plans
• Liaise with training providers to enable training provision and maximize offering to the business
• Prepare annual reports and summaries to enable funding and claw-backs for all relevant training courses.
• Ensure processes are in place to evidence training completed.
• Manage and undertake the administration of training activities including liaising with all stakeholders.
• Ensure correct authorities and sign off has been received for all training activities.
• Ensure training needs are identified and updated on the HR system
• Seek to continually improve processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
• Assist Head of HR with strategic training plan.

Skills and Experiences required:

• Experience within a training lead / coordinator role
• Strong knowledge and understanding of CITB claims and processes
• Analytical and numerical with strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Excellent communicator in all mediums and at all levels;
• Build strong working relationships and collaborate with others to achieve goals;
• Intermediate level of expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Proficient in the use of an HR Information System or similar.
