A leading and rapidly growing national transport and haulage Company with a number of sites across the UK are looking for a HR Business Partner to manage the Eastern region of England. The role will be based out of Hull and require travel to 3 other sites. Role paying up to £40k plus car allowance.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Head of HR, the HR Business Partner will be asked to provide HR Support to 4 sites across the East of England. Based out of Hull, the role will require the individual to:

  • Support the development of HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair, consistent management of colleagues across the Business
  • Manage investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters in conjunction with the Management Team
  • Provide advice and guidance on individual employee relations cases, ensure cases are well managed and meet the requirements of the Company policies, procedures and best practice
  • Provide support and guidance on absence issues and manage maternity leave and flexible working requests
  • Ensure visibility across the business so managers and colleagues feel listened to and valued
  • Support the annual appraisal process providing guidance as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain effective relationship with Management teams, Union stewards and lead Drivers as appropriate
  • Ensure colleagues are informed and updated on key business issues that drive performance and improve the culture of the business
  • Operate as HR Lead on Union negotiations and also lead on TUPE projects
  • Develop a strong business relationship with the central HR Team

About the Person

For the HR Business Partner role we are hoping to attract a HR professional capable of demonstrating:

  • Previous expertise operating at HRBP or HR Manager level
  • Experience gained in a fast paced, multi site environment (preferably logistics)
  • An ability to complete projects and keep the leadership team fully informed of changes to the people strategy
  • A breadth of generalist HR expertise gained within a Unionised environment
  • An understanding of operating with a degree of autonomy
  • Suitably professionally qualified (CIPD or equivalent)
