HR & Payroll Executive

Location: Welwyn Garden City

Salary: £26,000 per annum + great pro rata benefits.

Contract type: 6 month FTC

Hours: Full time (36 hours per week Mon-Fri)

Working for a small business with a small HR team means great exposure to all things HR, turning your hand to muck in and really help.  This role has only come along due to relocation of its current incumbent so best to take advantage of it becoming available quickly.  Whilst the role can only be offered as a contract now it is likely a great opportunity will present itself and the right person will be considered for the new post.

What will be keeping you busy?

You will lead on administrative support for the recruitment process.  Manage the new starters and leavers’ processes, including on-boarding, induction and exit interviews.  Manage HRIS databases in compliance with current legislation and company standards.  Assist with the provision of advice and support to managers and employees, from handling simple queries to supporting maternity and paternity requests.

In Payroll you will support the payroll and benefits administration, this will include; complete payroll forms for the month-end sign-off, pension meetings, monitoring the uptake of benefits, handling payroll queries, right through to running monthly payroll in the absence of the Payroll Manager.  You will also help with audits.

You will also support the HR Manager on projects, so your days will be varied and the above list of typical duties not exhaustive.


Who are we looking for?

The right person will need to have good HR generalist and payroll skills and wide-reaching basic knowledge of HR and payroll, and they will be expected to flex their skills as the needs of the business change, sometimes on an hourly basis!  Just as important is the right fit for the team.

You will need previous experience in HR, gained within a private sector commercial business, and it is crucial that you can start within a week or so as a hand over and on the job training can then be offered.

This role would suit a candidate available for an immediate start.
