A highly desirable Recruitment Manager role is now available at an international insurance business based in the City. The Recruitment Manager will be responsible for the end to end delivery of top talent into the business, reducing recruitment costs for the business, managing a successful PSL, driving direct sourcing of candidates, enhancing the use of recruitment systems, building internal and external relationships and looking at new channels such as social media to attract talent.

The Recruitment Manager will be working as part of a team of 12 in HR who are an open, friendly, collegiate team that are professional and superb in their roles but also enjoy a laugh along the way. RM will partner with the business to add value to their recruitment processes and also HR.

We are looking for candidates that have previous inhouse recruitment experience ideally in the insurance industry or Financial Services. Candidates will also need to be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the recruitment process, have a results focus approach, excellent stakeholder management skills, strong business acumen and also a stable work history. Candidates will enjoy day to day recruitment but also want to get involved with the strategic elements and projects.


Manage recruitment activity across the business

  • Taking a hands on approach to recruitment, leading on roles where necessary and partnering with the business
  • Develop a high quality, inclusive, efficient and cost-effective resourcing strategy bringing as much recruitment in-house as possible
  • Provide an excellent candidate experience for both successful and unsuccessful applicants
  • Develop strong business relationships across the teams and become to 'go to' person
  • Manage the on-line and social media presence relating to employer brand along with the interface through to the ATS
  • Own the process for the recruitment of contingent workers
  • Work with the HR business partners to identify internal talent and encourage internal moves, promotions and global mobility
  • Integrate the diversity and inclusion strategy across the business, in partnership with other members of the HR team
  • Develop reporting and metrics for Board level reporting on candidate sources, time to recruit, success rates for recruitment consultants and recruiting managers, costs and so forth

Vacancy identification

  • Manage vacancy authorisations across the business and work with recruiting managers to draft appropriate job specifications, applicant pools and selection criteria/stages, in partnership with HR business partners
  • Challenge vacancy requests where appropriate to ensure headcount is in line with budgets, business and workforce planning


  • Develop relationships with third parties such as LinkedIn, CII careers and other job boards such that we are able to use the most appropriate cost-effective source for each vacancy
  • Develop and maintain streamlined and targeted PSL agreements with key agencies. Where new terms are required, work with the Legal team to ensure suitability and consistency
  • Develop relationships with executive search firms
  • Build a reputation within the Market for dealing fairly, responsively and professionally
  • Build a pipeline of suitable candidates who meet the base requirements of roles


  • Develop a portfolio of selection methods across all functions including testing where appropriate
  • Work with the hiring manager for UK and rest of world vacancies on selection with HR involvement in interviews where relevant, particularly for senior or hard to fill roles
  • Have an eye to diversity and inclusion so that we broaden our employee population leading to competitive business advantage


  • Negotiation of offer in partnership with relevant HR business partner and line manager, ensuring consistency on total compensation
  • Oversight of candidate communication between offer and first day


  • Inhouse recruitment experience
  • Insurance experience ideal or Financial Services experience
  • Ability to build and maintain core business relationships with key stakeholders
  • Educated to degree standard
