HR Business Partner - £40-£45k - Waterloo

A fantastic opportunity to work with an inspiring and commercial Head of HR in Waterloo has arisen. The organisation is 700 strong and has grown rapidly in the last years. The business is continuing to experience growth.

The remit of this HR Business Partner role is generalist with a focus on Change Management and Employee Relations. Your client group will be c.300 employees across varied business areas.

HR Business Partner - £40-£45k - Waterloo - Job Role

To support the business through change and optimise the performance of its people with a cost conscious attitude through in all aspects of HR operations with particular focus on employment relations and organisation design.

Key responsibilities include:

1) Leading through change

  • To act as the primary HR interface with a portfolio of business units providing advice and recommendations on full range of HR matters, influencing business decision-makers to implement initiatives in accordance with organisational strategic objectives that drive higher levels of employee performance and engagement.
  • Support key stakeholders embed restructure initiatives and support cultural shift towards a high performance team
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships to be seen as a trusted advisor to key internal stakeholder across operating regions

2) Employee Relations

  • Implement disciplinary, grievance and performance management procedures in a timely manner, including advising on case management, conducting investigations, and participating in hearings, and working to ensure consistent, fair and pragmatic decision making
  • Promote and support managers in the implementation of the performance review process across The Challenge. Provide coaching to managers in handling performance and conduct issues and work with the Learning and Development Manager to identify training needs where appropriate
  • Provide advice, support, coaching and guidance to line managers and employees on implementation of all HR procedures/policies ensuring consistent, fair and pragmatic decision making. Monitor and report on employment relations trends across the organisation, identifying solutions to mitigate risk & impact to the business.

3) HR Policy, Process and Systems

  • Support the Head of HR to improve the technological capability of HR including supporting with the implementation of a new HR system, review of HR processes, and the role of digital technology in all aspects of HR and people management
  • Produce timely and accurate management information and meaningful analysis to support the business in workforce planning and all aspects of HR and use to identify and report trends to the Head of HR, /HR Director/key stakeholders
  • Ensure and drive a cost conscious work culture to manage current & future budgets in a responsible & disciplined way

4) Resourcing & Organisational Development

  • Partner with key stakeholders to support the development and maintenance of a workforce plan, identifying resourcing solutions that align to business unit/organisational objectives and budgetary parameters.
  • As required, lead discussions with assigned business units to identify, facilitate, and support the planning and implementation of organisational development initiatives. Partner with the Head of HR to develop and execute structural changes required within the business and support cultural change across the organisation through the change.

5) Project support

  • Partner with the Head of HR to plan and implement organisational initiatives as necessary to help build the organisation's capability to manage future growth and change
  • Work with the Head of HR to gain a more comprehensive insight of workforce needs/expectations with respect of financial & non-financial incentives ensure they are fit for purpose and to further define our employee value proposition.

HR Business Partner - £40-£45k - Waterloo - Key Skills

You will need:
To have worked in environments of change and ambiguity and be comfortable with shifting demands and priorities.
Experience dealing with cases both simple and complex. You will ideally have worked with a range of managers and be used to adapting your style.
Experience dealing with a first-time managers would be advantageous.
To think creatively
Excellent relationship building skills and stakeholder management skills

Successful candidates in this role will be intuitive and and use their HR sixth-sense to foresee and prevent possible HR issues arising and get a buzz from problem solving.
