In the role of Head of Recruitment you will develop the Talent Acquisition strategy for the business and recruit and develop a team that will help the business deliver its key objectives.

  • Deliver the UK headcount requirements for each year to budget
  • Provide line management for the recruitment team, ensuring team members are effectively recruited, trained, empowered and structured to maintain a high standard of professional recruitment standards/practices
  • Implement metrics for recruitment operations
  • Constantly review recruitment processes, policies and tool-kits to propose and drive systemic changes where improvements and/or efficiencies can be made
  • Support the creation of robust and diverse talent pipelines to support current and future hiring needs, through the development of alternative sourcing strategies for active and passive candidates
  • Build effective and transparent working relationships with business heads and hiring managers
  • Create close relationships with internal & external vendors, such as RPO & recruitment agencies, to promote the long-term interests of the business
  • Identify and develop effective channels for increasing the employment brand
  • Monitor industries' best practices in attraction concepts and recruitment channels and implement changes to current practices, where appropriate
  • Represent the business at external networking events, organise open days, assessment centres
  • Through a talent strategy that will include external talent acquisition, EVP and internal talent succession planning you will ensure the organisation has the right talent in the right roles at the right time


Skills and Experience required:

  • Degree educated
  • Significant working experience in a Head of role in an in-house recruitment logistics or engineering/manufacturing environment, hands-on
  • Experience managing recruitment teams
  • Strong knowledge of working with internal and external vendors (RPO & Agencies)
  • Expert understanding of budget
  • Good team player with creative and sound problem solving skills
  • Independent and self-driven
  • Able to multi-task in a fast paced team environment
  • Skilled in networking and building good relationships
  • Experiences at working directly with Senior Leadership Teams, exercising relationship building and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated strategic broad-minded thinking while collaborating and working hands-on with a team at a granular level
  • Flexibility to travel
