Salary: £35k - £40k + car

Contract type: Permanent

We think that this business is a bit special…

This business has a truly compelling story to tell and we are failing to find reasons why people would not want to work for them. The business unit that you will be working for has about two thousand employees working for it but is part of a much larger group. They are looking to make a few key hires into HR as they seek to establish and deliver a great service to the business from this function. This is an established business but in many respects, this will not be dissimilar to setting up from scratch in a greenfield site. You will genuinely get to help influence and develop how things are done. This will not be a boring role!

We don’t want to tell you who they are just yet as that will ruin the surprise. They are a business with some fantastic brands and being part of a group employing fifty-five thousand people, you will have no shortage of opportunities to develop your career with a great organisation this is an exciting time to join!

What will be keeping you busy?

Employee Relations & Management Development – You will be responsible for ensuring that all managers effectively utilise the employment relations advice line and have the relevant level of training, coaching and support in conducting disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and any performance management.

Career & Succession Management – You will work with the business to identify recruitment challenges, liaising with the Resourcing Partner to co-ordinate campaigns. You will support your key stakeholders in the development of a succession plan, talent pipeline and completion of the performance review process including PDPs.

Change projects, including management of required consultation redundancies, alignment of T’s & C’s, implementing contractual changes.

Employee Engagement, and communication.  Utilising the employee survey feedback to improve ways of working.

Payroll & HR Administration – This role will lead, manage and coach the Payroll/HR Administrator liaising with HR Shared Services and central Payroll as required. Ensuring managers are trained and competent to complete payroll spreadsheets and contract terms are applied correctly and consistently.

HR People Stats – To analyse HR KPI’s. Identification of trends with relevant escalation and follow through with line managers and action plans where appropriate.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with sold generalist HR and complex ER experience. You should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing a broad range of HR activities, with particular emphasis on applying commercially-oriented solutions.  You will be able to deliver effective, impactful and engaging communication and will be someone with great interpersonal and influencing skills with colleagues at all levels.

If you have the ability to act on your own initiative and work autonomously whilst taking responsibility for decisions, finding practical solutions to problems and addressing challenges in tight time frames then this could be a great job for you.

You will be someone who constantly seeks to improve HR and Operational ways of working, supporting and managing cross functional change management programmes with measured outcomes and milestones.  Up to date and in depth knowledge of current and upcoming employment law would be particularly useful and you should be CIPD qualified or with equivalent experience. People management experience is also desirable.

We really want someone that is passionate about what they do. We really want someone that can take colleagues (especially blue-collar workers) at all levels with them. You will be engaging, credible, professional and importantly good-humoured.
