A Financial Services firm are currently looking to hire an Employee Relations Consultant to join them on a 12 month Fixed Term contract.

The key responsibilities of the post holder will be to provide strategic direction, advice and guidance to the FCA on legislative issues and employee relations (ER) matters. You will also proactively engage in statutory and legal developments ensuring policy, procedure and guidance is up to date and legally compliant.

More specifically the role will involve:

Leading and manage complex employee relations cases including but not limited to; investigations, appeals, disciplinary hearings, grievances and performance management cases and advise the business on associated risk.

Liaising with and responding to ACAS early conciliation claims and representing the organisation at employment tribunals and any other areas of litigation.

Project manage and deliver a review and re-launch of the current Employee Handbook to ensure it meets both legal and organisational requirements.

Review and lead on the introduction of new or revised policies and procedures to ensure the HR division are appropriately equipped and continuously supported in introducing and managing such changes.

Creating template documents and toolkits to support HR Business Partners and Line Managers (eg, TUPE toolkit, redundancy toolkit and complaints handling procedures)

The ideal will hold a graduate degree and preferable a CIPD qualification. You will need to demonstrate strong experience with the practical application of Employment Law in a complex work environment. Experience of updating policies and procedures to reflect best practice and legal compliance and experienced in delivering coaching and learning on Employee Relations issues to managers and HR colleagues. Able to influence and articulate arguments to gain business commitment. Strong practical working knowledge of UK Employment law, ER policy and the current regulatory landscape. Well versed in HR best practice and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels. The ability to implement policy changes and manage change effectively.
