Ready for your first HRBP role?
This brand new role is working for a niche specialist Insurance company based close to Liverpool Street, Bank or Fenchurch Street stations. The role would suit a career minded and 'active' Generalist who is looking to undertake a broad range of issues including ER, Recruitment, Performance Management, Talent Mapping as well as a range of HR projects. If you are looking for a bigger challenge then this really is the place to develop your skills, learn and progress your career with the support of a great team.
You would be working very closely with the Head of HR and be given exposure to a number of exciting projects that are being rolled out over the coming twelve months. The Head of HR was a real pleasure to meet and came across as being a great inspiration and mentor. She describes her style of working as being very much 'bigger picture', so said that she needs the support of someone who will be more detail focussed and take her creativity to help her finish her ideas and 'make things happen'. She describes the culture as being very non-hierarchical and having an "all hands on deck" philosophy. As a business they are moving away from the more traditional hire, and she was eager to point out that a background in Insurance is not essential. Instead, she is looking for a solid HR Advisor/Officer background along with a passion and enthusiasm for learning and a bright and positive personality.
As the role is operating at very much a Junior Business Partner level, she told me that she needs someone who has the confidence and gravitas to handle very senior people when she is unavailable. They are a values driven business and would like to find an HR professional who will also live these values, some of which include having the courage to do the right thing, being true to your word and always willing to challenge the way things are done. She is looking for someone to question whether things could be improved and if so, how.
As a rapidly growing business you will be required to undertake a relatively high volume of recruitment, so a passion for this will be essential. In return you will be rewarded with seeing the end results of your work as the business continues to grow, as well as building strong relationships with your client group and new employees as a direct result.
They would like someone who enjoys the challenge of working in a fast paced environment and who shares the need to have fun behind closed doors when the pressure is on. They are looking for someone on a permanent basis, but would also consider an Interim who would be interested in trying the role before going permanent.
