Standalone HR Manager - £50k-£60k - Shepherd's Bush

An HR Manager is sought to look after a client group of 100 for a six month period on a day rate. The business is a technology driven one in the medical industry. You will be working in a true generalist capacity and will need experience in restructuring and also change management as the business is very agile. The client group is highly educated, many staff and managers have PHDs and most are educated to a very high level with extremely specialist skill-sets.

You will be reporting to the US and will have a small team reporting to you - you must be comfortable with line management and have previous experience in line managing. The role will be a real mix of hands-on HR support and HR strategy, you will need to be comfortable switching from one to the other and happy with both.

Standalone HR Manager - £50k-£60k - Shepherd's Bush - Job Role

  • Partner with the Executive team in organisational design, team development, compensation structure, performance monitoring, and in building an inspiring and positive company culture - co-ordinating employee surveys and key employee meetings
  • Advise and support managers in dealing with HR and employment relations issues (including disciplinary, performance, absence, sickness, grievance case work) Volumes of ER casework are very low, but you need to be able to deal with anything that comes up.
  • Manage the annual review process for employees' pay and bonuses,
  • Manage all HR administrative processes (from employee contract management to on-boarding and off-boarding employees)
  • Work closely with line managers to identify staff learning and development requirements as required
  • Manage the Company payroll - with responsibility for sending accurate adjustments to outsourced payroll provider
  • Manage and implement employee benefits programmes, acting as the primary point of contact for third party suppliers
  • Responsible for line managing the corporate support team
  • Lead on HR projects as required

Standalone HR Manager - £50k-£60k - Shepherd's Bush - Experience

  • Experience in a broad HR generalist role in an environment of change
  • Restructure and change management experience is essential
  • Line management experience including recruitment, performance management and staff motivation and development
  • Familiarity with, and adherence to, the CIPD profession map and ACAS Codes of Practice
  • CIPD level 5 and above or equivalent
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law
  • An awareness of current payroll practices
  • Strong attention to detail for effective and efficient completion of responsibilities and ability to work autonomously in a fast-changing environment
  • Knowledge of and curiosity for HR trends and the ability to apply them practically

Although experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, health care and related industries would be advantageous, it is not essential. It is more important that you have experience in a start-up/post-start up environment. Candidates who have only worked in big corporates are unlikely to be considered - experience in rapidly growing businesses of 50-500 would be best.
