Assistant Head of Organisational Development
Salary up to £55,755 per annum
You believe that there’s a clear link between effective OD and the success of an organisation and the achievement of its goals. You recognise that this is evidence based and context specific and one size doesn’t fit all. You understand the theory but know it needs to be worked out in practice in a world that’s not tidy. You’re keen to demonstrate how your vision and ability to persuade and inspire can shape an OD strategy that’s fit for the future. If this sounds like you, we’re keen to hear from you.
As an organisation, we have taken a close look at how we work and our ambitions for the future and have identified the critical elements that will guide us; namely our long term vision to shape our changing county, investment in critical services and infrastructure, recognising and addressing our financial challenges and actively tackling our improvement journey in children’s services.
We’ll look to you to help shape and create our OD journey as we address our vision, values, key behaviours and desired outcomes not only for the Council but also as we contribute to a vibrant Gloucestershire where we are a key player with health and other partners. We are expecting you to be able to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to help facilitate our identification of future OD needs and to bring new insights and fresh thinking to the way we create and implement OD projects in line with business need. You’ll be comfortable shaping priorities, valuing and developing your team, collaborating with your HR business partner colleagues and managing our OD budget to best effect.
Of course, you will be an experienced HR/OD practitioner with a strong background in taking organisations forward in their corporate change and renewal processes and will be able to point to a record of sustainable outcomes. You’ll be keen to learn about us and to continue to learn along with us. Adept at encouraging engagement and buy-in, you will be able to influence those around you and will thrive in an environment where the known frequently changes and where being positive and credible counts.
