At UPP experience is everything, not just for our students and university partners, also for our employees.   As a Training Manager within the HR team, reporting to an L&D Manager, you will play a vital role in enabling us to realise our passion for providing great experiences. 

You will be the ‘business partner’ for learning and development for the South/South West region and will work closely with HR colleagues, General Managers and team members to deliver the L&D strategy. 

Identifying development and training needs, designing solutions and delivering training to a wide range of people will be key deliverables of the role.   Using a range of techniques such as blended learning, coaching, classroom training, 1-2-1, action learning and e-learning to best effect.  Working with internal and external experts to find and deliver the right solution and evaluating outcomes.  There will be opportunities to lead and support exciting project work, such as introducing a new e-learning platform.

You will be skilled at design and delivery of training, to a wide range of stakeholders and covering a variety of subjects, from culture and diversity to recruitment skills and performance management.   You will be comfortable in front of people and have an engaging and coaching style of delivery.  Managing your own diary and administration will be essential as will the ability to evaluate and report on training programmes and outcomes. 

Using the full range of Microsoft 365 products you will be digitally savvy, innovative and creative, with a real focus on delivering great experiences.  A formal qualification will be helpful but isn’t essential. 

This is a regional role and will involve extensive and regular travel across our sites, from Plymouth to Swansea and Reading to Kent and to our head office in London with occasional overnight stays.
