Apprenticeships Manager PO4

A great chance to make a difference!

Working in a small but highly regarded team you will lead the Council’s response to the Apprenticeships Levy.  A key area of focus will be to encourage managers to recruit and integrate  new apprentices as well as enabling  the existing workforce to develop and secure new skills and qualifications; promoting the Council as a progressive and committed employer.  You will be looking for external opportunities to recruit apprentices as well as promoting opportunities to existing staff members.

You will also assist in the development of learning initiatives such as:  talent management, mentoring and coaching, and the production of policies and guidance for managers.

You will be an integral part of the Learning and Development Team and be responsible for leading delivery related initiatives and projects.  This role fits within the wider Human Resources Team and you will receive guidance and mentoring from a Human Resources Consultant who manages the team.  The Head of Human Resources will retain strategic oversight of this key area.

You will be:

  • a highly motivated human resources or learning and development professional with demonstrable recent experience of designing and delivering effective human resources and learning and development initiatives
  • able to work independently with senior managers across the council to enable the Council to deliver its Apprenticeship and development priorities
  • a highly organised and confident individual who is CIPD qualified and able to demonstrate evidence of having worked successfully at band 2 of the CIPD Professional Map with evidence of continuous professional development.
