Head of HR
Our client, a true market leader in its sector is looking for a Head of HR to lead a small but growing HR Function. This is a newly created role in response to significant growth and profits they have experienced and are forecast to continue with.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to really bring their experience and thought leadership to the role. This is a hands on operational role, but with responsibility to drive the Group's strategic people agenda. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, highly commercial,and 'hypo'candidate who has the credibility and gravitas and is looking to grow in step with the Group. This position will develop into a HR Director role for the individual.
Leading and directing the human resource effort to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the global business
Leading, mentoring and developing the population of HR business partners.
Measuring employee satisfaction and engagement, and identifying areas that require improvement
Performance management: developing a performance management framework and coaching managers on performance management issues
Learning and development: providing guidance on development for managers and their teams
Training: Implementing the training and development agenda; identify areas that need attention and improvement
Recruitment and retention: managing talent and succession planning; taking overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns and employer branding
Reward: developing policies for employee compensation and benefits, taking in to account local market practices and existing employee circumstances
Policy and procedures: implementation of new HR policies, procedures, processes and ad-hoc projects
Ensuring all company policies and procedures are up to date, in line with current employment law and that line managers are up to date with changes to any policies
Working with senior managers, influencing, coaching and advising on all people issues, and provide support for change management
Managing HR budgets
Workplace: work with all stakeholders to ensure our global facilities support the needs of the business and our people
Community: Personal leadership and support of the Group's CSR related activities
Skills and experiences:
Superb communication skills honed in business partnering/advisory roles.
Experience of change management and organisation design.
Examples of adding value as both an individual contributor and active team member
Experience of dealing with senior and sometimes challenging individuals
Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the executive team
Ability to represent the Human Resource function as part of the bigger business picture
Confident directing HR and advising managers on all aspects of people management and development
Experience of acquisitions and integration's, including managing TUPE, redundancy or other relevant HR projects
Strong understanding of employment law
Experience of international HR and working with local advisors
Good work ethic, and willingness to travel between UK offices to meet with stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis.
