My client, a highly successful Construction business now has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

Working closely with the HR leadership team, HR Business Partners and the Company Legal Advisor, you'll provide sound, pragmatic Employee Relations support to the business, serving as an escalation point for complex issues and providing case management on a broad spectrum of ER activities. This will include;

Providing specialist advice and guidance to HR Business Partners and Business Managers

Conducting independent investigations and acting as the HR representative at hearings

Producing and reviewing high quality investigation reports and outcome letters,

Carrying out group and individual consultations

Managing restructuring, redundancies or TUPE transfers from start to finish, ensuring best practice is applied at all times.

Coaching and training line managers in dealing with ER issues and supporting the upskilling of staff on ER queries, policy advice etc.

Ensuring HR policies and procedures are up to date in line with legislation and making recommendations as to policy changes in line with current cases and relevant outcomes

Managing all pre-conciliation work and the initial preparation and drafting of ET3 documentation

Supporting and managing the end to end process for high level/sensitive terminations/exits, including drafting settlement agreements, liaising with external lawyers etc.

Analysing ER data/trends and producing management information

In addition to the experience above, which you will ideally have gained in similar large, fast-paced and commercial driven business and sector, you will also require:

The ability to work with a high volume of ER issues

The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

A proven ability to identify and quantify risks and advise the business accordingly

The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders where necessary

The resilience to deal with often challenging or sensitive situations

Experience of managing formal internal disputes (from investigation stage right through to outcome)

Strong and up to date knowledge of Employment Law and TUPE regulations

Knowledge of organisational design theories and models

Excellent written skills to ensure robust investigation reports, outcome letters, business cases etc.

Knowledge of pre-conciliation processes and experience of drafting ET3's

Experience of drafting and negotiating settlement agreements, in relation to high level/sensitive exits
