This is an opportunity to join a media company in a 12 month fixed term mat leave contract to lead a small close knit HR team, reporting into the HR Director.
You will be joining a team well set up to deliver an excellent HR service to it's business group. Your primary responsibility will be to lead this team from an operational perspective overseeing a HR Advisor and HR Assistant whilst managing your own client group. You will be expected to roll your sleeves up and should be the type of person that wouldn't ask your team to do anything you are not prepared to do yourself.
The HR Director will offer support but will leave the day to day running of the HR function to you, so you should be confident enough to lead the team and advise and provide guidance to line managers where appropriate. You will also be involved in adhoc HR projects driven by the HR Director. This is largely a business as usual role, with very limited involvement in recritment and payroll.
As the successful applicant you will have team management experience within a HR function and a comprehensive HR generalist background with an emphasis on employee relations. As the HR Manager you will be expected to deal with the more complex or senior ER issues arising within the business.
It is likely that you will be involved in at least acquisition during your tenure so experience of managing redundancies and change would be an advantage.
