HR Manager / Assistant Director
Artis HR are currently supporting a fantastic business in Bristol with the recruitment of a HR Manager / Assistant Director - This is a permanent full time post paying £40-48,000 pa + 27 days holiday and a very good pension package - Flexibility for home working.
As Assistant Director of HR, you will support the Director of HR and Deputy Director of HR in a varied and exciting range of strategic and operational duties. You will have a discernible impact on the effectiveness of the Directorate as well as a tangible influence at an organisational level on progress against our ambitious strategy and transformation programme. You will operate as a proxy for both, ensuring their views, priorities and influence is heard across the organisation in our operations, programmes, projects and culture.
You will work closely with both senior leaders to understand the strategic and operational context and direction and will utilise that knowledge to input into and shape programmes and projects accordingly.
Where the Director or Deputy are not able to attend or be involved in work, you will act in their stead ensuring a consistency of message and approach and that our limited resources are maximised.
You will also be responsible for your own portfolio of work which will include the implementation of organisational projects within HR as well as organisational facing work packages which you will yourself lead.
With an eye for detail and data, you are able to understand and explain complex concepts and produce compelling narratives and written work which reflect our brand and strategy. Proficient in the production of management information, you will utilise the wide range of available people data to produce meaningful reports and insightful narratives to aid in decision making and organisational understanding of issues.
*Work closely with senior leaders to fully understand the culture, operations and strategic direction of the business and utilise this knowledge to ensure that the work you get involved with is aligned with our strategy.
*Deputise as a valued proxy for the Director and Deputy Director of HR, attending meetings and representing them and their interests on programmes and projects
* Oversee the production of management information to support business performance and create appropriate narratives to drive effective decision making. This is far more than simply pointing out key measures - success will mean working closely with OD, learning and development, ER and communications specialists to identify a comprehensive programme of activities to ensure we continue our journey towards high performance.
*Operate as the directorate's communication expert and support colleagues to develop an audience appropriate style which aligns with our brand ensuring that the value of communication (verbal, electronic, digital, written documentation etc) is maximised, our culture continues to develop and the Human Resources directorate is positioned as a customer focused, strategically aligned and visionary enabler of productivity.
*Deliver own portfolio of projects and packages of work which will include the implementation of organisational projects within HR as well operating as the directorate's lead on largescale organisation-wide projects. Work as a change agent, ensuring change is effective and embedded in the directorate.
*Be responsible for risk management within the directorate, overseeing the risk management process and providing assurance to the Director that all risks are appropriately identified, rated, mitigated and escalated.
*Administer the Directorate's budget ensuring budgets are accurate, forecasting the impact of potential in year changes, monitored on a monthly basis and keeping the Director and Deputy informed of issues by-exception.
*Drive a culture of customer service in the Directorate taking practical actions to ensure the team operate in the best interests of customers.
*Develop and oversee an ongoing programme of directorate training and development, aligned with the business' and directorate strategies ensuring we operate as an effective and cohesive team able to deliver exceptional services to our customers.
*Take a lead on directorate communications ensuring these reflect our various brands, tone and language is well received and high impact, that information is shared effectively and collaboration is enabled and that the team has the information needed to operate effectively.

*Experience of implementation of best fit HR practices including performance management, reward, organisational design, embedding values and behaviours, talent management and leadership development

*Experience of writing 'on brand' corporate communications in a range of mediums.
