Head of HR
I am delighted to be working with a prestigious and academically outstanding Independent School on the appointment of their Head of HR. This role will support both the senior school and the junior school (years 3 - 18).
As the Head of HR you will deliver an efficient and effective HR service across both schools reporting directly to the Bursar whilst being functionally responsible to the Heads of each school and to their senior leadership teams as appropriate. You will be supported by and manage the HR Assistant in running the HR service for Teaching, Administration and Support staff across both schools. You will be responsible for ensuring all compliance relating to every employee within the School is in line with safer recruitment and the Government's 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' (KCSiE). You will be required to manage this closely via the School's Single Central Record (SCR) to maintain an accurate and complete document which may be inspected at any time by regulatory authorities.
You will be the go-to person on all HR strategy and implementation, ready to advise management and employees alike. You will develop the HR Assistant and maintain high standards of HR. You will work closely with the Heads of both schools on all recruitment within their purview and you will be confident advising them on all employee relations cases and Employment Law. You will also act as a key advisor to the Bursar and senior leadership teams on all HR policy and procedures, and ensure that the employees and the school are up to date with all new polices and Employment Law changes.
You will be a resilient and established senior HR Professional with experience of leading a HR agenda either in a stand alone capacity or with a large team. You will be well organised with excellent attention to detail, both verbally and written, and you will have excellent communication skills. You will be discreet and able to keep confidences which is essential for working in a high profile school. Although experience of working in an education setting is not essential you must be fully committed to working in the Independent Sector.

Before appointment, the holder of this post will undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and with the Disclosure & Barring Service. After appointment, the holder of this post will undergo safeguarding training at induction and periodically thereafter.
