People Support Adviser

One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations, The Salvation Army, is looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer care and some operational HR experience to join us as People Support Adviser.

Providing excellent customer service by acting as the first point of contact for HR matters within a designated region is just one of the challenges you will face here. Diagnosing problems, finding and implementing solutions that meet organisational need and providing advice and guidance are all important aspects of the role, as is routing the matter to specialist support teams to resolve an enquiry when you don’t have the answer.

Helping employees and managers to access the HR systems so that they can obtain information efficiently will be essential too, as will providing information on policies and processes across a broad range of HR topics. Updating employee records, producing value-added HR reports, building relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation and keeping up-to-date with changes to policies, procedures and legislation – all are aspects of this interesting and varied role.

Working towards a CIPD qualification or equivalent, or willing to work towards one within your first 12 months, your passion for customer care has been gained working in a contact centre or shared services team. You have also had exposure to a complex administrative environment where excellent attention to detail was key. The ability to prioritise while under pressure is essential too, as is great spelling, punctuation and grammar and knowledge of HR policies, processes, procedures and legislation and their application.

Benefits: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata for part-time); a contributory pension scheme; season ticket loan; Childcare Voucher Scheme; an employee assistance programme

Appointment subject to satisfactory references and right to work in the UK and a satisfactory Enhanced DBS disclosure .

Closing date: 16th April 2018.

CVs will not be accepted.
