Interim HR Manager job available to cover a period of maternity

Your new company
The organisation are a well-known manufacturing organisation with a number of manufacturing plants across the UK with a staff force of approximately 500 members of staff. The role is to cover a period of maternity leave so will be offered on an initial contract of between 9 - 12 months.

Your new role
The HR Manager position is a full generalist position to cover 1 site and will report to the site manager with a dotted line to the UK Head of HR. You will be responsible for the full HR function within the business and be an integral part of the plant Senior Management Team to ensure that the site business plan and targets are achieved. The role is a full generalist position and will involve managing performance, talent pipeline, training plans, looking after the values of the organisation, employee handbook and any changes, time management system, occupational health, union relationships, payroll checking and anomalies, absence & attendance including overtime and temporary members of staff. The role covers a number of departments including the main head office functions but the main staff force is the manufacturing plant. In terms of more strategic input, you will be involved in mission and values, global onboarding, competency training framework, apprentices for the year, interns, HR system and the functionality. You will also be involved with the senior leadership team meetings on a daily basis.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal will have operated at a senior level in another HR position and have the below experience
Manufacturing experience is essential
Unions experience essential
Staff management experience is essential
Experience of managing the clocking in systems and payroll
occupational health experience
CIPD level 5+

What you'll get in return
You will be offered a contract for a period of 9 - 12 months on a salary up to £50k. The client will also pay a retention bonus at the end of the contract of £5k. The business also offer additional benefits including 6% pension, 25 days holiday, free car parking.
