Artis HR are currently supporting an exciting professional services organisation in Central Bristol with the recruitment of a HR Manager, this is a permanent full-time role however our client will consider candidates looking for an ftc, part time or flexible working 4 or 5 days a week- Bristol with national travel - Salary is around £45,000 with a little flex.

Reporting to: Head of HR

The Purpose: Plan, implement, and evaluate employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Ensure that all HR and Recruitment processes are accurately, efficiently and fairly processed, via management of the team. Working as part of a proactive, innovative and responsive HR team to provide pragmatic, creative and business focused HR solutions and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

*Line manage the HR Administrator and Recruitment Assistant. Lead the team to implement and manage effective HR systems, policies and procedures.
*Maintain staff by leading on recruitment and interviewing; liaise with managers / agencies / candidates on recruitment issues; counsel managers on candidate selection; conduct and analyse exit interviews; recommending changes.
*Ensure that all HR processes are accurately, efficiently and fairly processed. Oversee and authorise the preparation and issue of appropriate contractual documentation in relation to appointments, terminations and variations of employment including accurate notification to Payroll. Oversee the production of all letters and issuing of formal documentation to employees relating to promotions, starters, leavers, salary changes, maternity/paternity/adoption leave requests, changes to working hours or job roles.
*Lead on complex absence management, grievance or disciplinary matters.
*Support Partners and managers with the effective and efficient performance of their employees, identifying and facilitating appropriate interventions through the performance management processes.
*Guide Partners and managers through employee relations cases in real time, intervening and steering in the appropriate direction taking account of governing policies, employment law, best practice and precedent.
*Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable UK and EU employment legislation; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organisations at employment tribunals if necessary.
*Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives with the Head of HR, aligned with the overall business strategy.
*Provide effective, customer focussed and professional HR support to employees and Partners, delivering a high level of operational advice consistent with Company and legal requirements.
*Build effective working relationships with staff at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practice.
*Ensure effective monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action in accordance with the Firm's policy and to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management to ensure a smooth return to work, liaising with Occupational Health when required.
*Lead projects as required to develop HR objectives and to ensure company growth and efficiency, eg policy updates, Handbook, contracts, implementing frameworks, changing the appraisal process
*Produce and report on key management information, so that issues may be addressed and improvements made.
*Manage the annual salary review process, advising management on promotion and salaries including conducting benchmarking.
*Planning, and sometimes delivering, training, including inductions for new staff.
*Maintain employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims (via 3rd party suppliers).

Candidate profile:
*Proven working experience as HR manager or similar
*Level 7 CIPD qualified, ideally MCIPD
*Well versed in GDPR
*BS/MS degree in Human Resources or related field and excellent academic record
*Excellent communication, diplomatic and organisational skills
*The ability to work under pressure and with personnel from all levels
*Tact and the ability to deal with difficult situations
*Previous line management experience
*Thorough and up to date knowledge of UK employment legislation
*Confidence to work with a sometimes challenging group of stakeholders
*Previous inhouse recruitment and interviewing experience
*Experience of social media for recruitment
*People oriented and results driven
*Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
*Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
*A demonstrable record of success in previous roles
*Experience of leading grievance and disciplinary and performance management meetings
*Experience of delivering front line support to employees and managers on holiday entitlement, flexible working request, paternity, maternity and shared parental leave
*Proven ability to deal discretely with people issues
