A leading, law firm based in central London, near Chancery Lane tube station, is looking for an HR Assistant to join the organisation on a 6 month fixed term contract, with the view to then become permanent. This person will be working closely with the HR Managers and Officers to support the day to day delivery of HR processes and departmental administration. This is a generalist role that offers exposure to HR information systems, employee relations, L&D, recruitment, compensation and benefits and operational HR.

Specifically, this person will be responsible for:

Providing support to HR officer with the monthly payroll submission

Ensuring all employee information is inputted into the HRIS (Cascade) accurately and on time

Providing guidance to staff regarding the firm's benefits package

Working closely with HR Officers to action regular HR management reports as appropriate

Liaising with recruiting managers, recruitment agencies and candidates to arrange interviews

Administering tests for candidates when necessary

Co-ordinating the management of candidate applications via the firm's recruitment portal "Allhires"

Preparation of all paperwork including offer letters and contracts, new joiner details and leaver paperwork

Arranging inductions with key stakeholders and support functions

Arrange leaver details and manage the exit interview process

Provide day-to-day HR guidance on policies, procedures and processes.

  • Manage client contact work experience programme and provide ad hoc support with the general work placement programme

  • Any other adhoc support to the HR team during peak times

  • Ideally, this person will:

    Have a professional manner and strong communication skills

    Be highly organised and proactive in their approach to their work

    Be confident working in a busy, fast paced team environment and have a flexible nature

    Be educated to degree level or equivalent

    Hold a strong attention to detail and be organised

    Understand the importance of confidentiality of sensitive personal data

    Awareness of and an interest in the activities of a busy HR function

    Have a strong knowledge of IT systems and be proficient using Microsoft Office packages

    Have experience working with HR databases (although full training will be given)
