We are seeking an HRD to be responsible for HR across all areas of Reed Specialist Recruitment, with particular focus upon recruiting and retaining the best people and managing that talent effectively; creating streamlined operations with highly productive teams who deliver excellent customer service; and optimise and drive our performance culture. 

The HRD will report directly to the Group’s Chief HR Officer, with responsibility for providing all HR services to the Global MD of Reed Specialist Recruitment and holding a place on the executive board for this business. The HR function is a hugely important part of the business because dealing with people is at the core of what we do. The HRD will provide leadership to an established and highly respected HR team, whilst liaising with our own group Talent Acquisition, Reward, and Learning & Development teams to deliver world class service to the business across the UK, EMEA and APAC.  The HRD will be instrumental in developing a customer-led approach through Reed Specialist Recruitment and will be expected to use innovation in line with current business needs including improving income contribution, retention and productivity.  With an eye to the future in mind, the HRD will be aware of how technology is developing in today’s society and how business processes and operations will need to adapt to remain competitive. In addition, the HRD will be responsible for managing a team of experienced HR professionals.

Who are you?


You will have a proven track record in running an effective HR function, alongside a sound knowledge base, gained from extensive experience of human resources, including recruitment and selection, employment law, and talent management. You will have a character which fits with our core values, and the ability to influence and challenge others through both words and actions. You will possess the ability to “get things done” alongside providing a strategic input to our business direction.

Your home office location will be in Northampton, with travel required.
