HR Employee Relations Advisor

Possible full & part-time positions available

This is not a traditional government HR role because we’re not a traditional government organisation. Join our dedicated team here in Milton Keynes, and your expertise will have a broader commercial impact and a more far-reaching international influence.

Focus on the present but look to the future

Day to day, you'll be offering advice and support on the full range of HR issues – everything from attendance and grievance procedures to employee conduct, health and wellbeing – all the while promoting good people management behaviours and nurturing a healthy, diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation.

But this is not a purely operational role. There's a strategic element to it as well. To that end, you'll get to work with HR Business Partners and your colleagues in Policy & Employee Relations on a variety of more focused projects around things like talent management, workforce planning, organisational change and policy review

Make your skills and experience count for more

To rise to the challenge, you'll obviously need experience of working in an HR role – ideally one with an operational focus or an emphasis on policy. If you have a CIPD (or equivalent) qualification under your belt, so much the better. But more important is a broad understanding of HR policies and procedures and an up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.

Aside from your practical experience, there are certain personal and professional qualities we'll be looking for. Strong organisational and project management skills are a must. As is a creative yet pragmatic approach to problem-solving. The key to your success, however, will be the outstanding interpersonal skills that enable you to gain the trust and respect of everyone around you and handle even the most complex or challenging situations with confidence.

And help FCO Services protect what matters most

At FCO Services, we protect, information, assets and people for government-level customers in the UK and around the world. So by throwing yourself into this role, you won't just be creating the best possible environment for the people who work with us, you'll be actively contributing to the nation's security too.

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.
