The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our high performing HR team and play a key role in our plans for future growth, whilst maintaining stability with our current schools portfolio who require a continued level of support. We are looking for an outstanding HR Business Partner to provide a timely, professional and strategic HR service to a specified group of schools across the South East region.

A demonstration of resilience and credibility is key, and someone who can quickly build relationships with senior stakeholders and able to work at pace and provide pragmatic business solutions.  As we continue to grow, you will manage TUPE transfers, work with the regions to develop our clustering strategy, support new schools joining the Group and continue to provide an excellent service to our existing schools.  You will have experience of workforce planning and change management and will be able to work effectively as part of the team around the school.

You will build HR capacity in central office functions and schools by developing the knowledge and capability of line managers and HR practitioners.  You will also support the continual improvement of transactional HR through process improvements, training and sharing of good practice amongst your schools.

About You

You must have excellent communication skills, the ability to influence at a senior level as well as the drive to work autonomously and flexibly across the region.

This is a home-based regional role, covering the Kent, East Sussex and Surrey areas and would be ideally suited to someone living in this area. The role will include regular travel to schools across the South East, and occasionally to other locations across the South. You will also be required to attend meetings at our offices in Peterborough and London with occasional overnight stays. A high degree of flexibility is required, as is the ability to travel on a frequent and regular basis, and the ability to work outside of normal working hours. Travel expenses are payable from home.

The ideal candidate will be fully CIPD qualified, preferably with Chartered membership, with an excellent track record in generalist HR and Business Partner roles in addition to a deep understanding of employment law and HR best practice, preferably gained in a large complex organisation. A background in the education sector is highly desirable.
