Head of HR
Morgan McKinley is working with a fantastic organisation linked with the construction industry and government to find a Head of HR. The successful candidate will lead the HR function; develop robust HR policies and procedures, whilst building strong relationships with senior stake holders. Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and direct the HR team to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the organisation and be the recognised "face of HR" for over 300 staffManage and develop a small team of 2.Deal with complex employee relations activities including managing absence, disciplinary, grievance, sickness, capability and performance mattersTrain and coach managers in employment legislation matters, application of HR policies, performance management issues and staff development including probations and annual reviewsImplement a learning and development plan for the organisation, identifying and addressing key areas for improvement with a focus on establishing a strong performance culture and a management leadership programmeDevise and implement talent management and succession planning initiativesTake overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaignsEnsure that the HR team complies with all relevant regulations in the upkeep and storage of HR files, both soft and hard filesChair discussions and negotiations with Trade Union on relevant matters including pay, TUPE, policy implementation and change management
- Substantial experience of working as a HR Advisor, Business Partner or Manager in busy and diverse environments, preferably within not-for profit, professional services or construction sectors.Experience of dealing with complex employee relationsDemonstrable experience of dealing with change management processes including TUPE, redundancy, reorganisationsFundamental understanding and application of HR policies, employment legislation and best practiceQualified to degree, combined with a CIPD qualification
