Director of HR & Talent
Central London
Circa £90,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Leader has arisen to join an award-winning, independent creative agency as they continue to expand both in terms of size & client remit, across both the UK & internationally.
Reporting directly into the founder of the business, the post-holder will offer unrivalled HR support & guidance to the wider business, as well as implement an effective talent management offering to drive both positive external talent acquisition as well as successful internal performance & succession planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
• Partner with key, Senior Account Managers & Directors within the business, as well as the Board, implementing a suitable HR / People strategy, that is aligned to overall business goals & objectives
• Drive high performance internally, creating an engaged culture that rewards success
• Create a training platform that gives staff the tools to be multiskilled, as well as gives individuals the chance ‘to step up' into middle management positions successfully
• Ensure that the HR function constantly drives profitability, recruiting & retaining the best talent in the industry
• Revise current assessment tools and upskill hiring managers in relation to interview techniques, creating a more efficient recruitment system
• Review and implement an improved probation process
• Attend regularly management meetings to discuss business plans, sitting as part of SMT / the Board as a senior voice within HR (i.e. the post-holder will need a high level of gravitas matched with industry knowledge and strong social skills)
• Handle ad-hoc HR issues as they occur, ensuring the business has a clear understanding of process, coaching managers and advising employees as required
• Complete HR projects as needed, i.e. keep the business legislation savvy
• Handle workforce planning needs, such as in the event of a new acquisition, ensuring the business is ready for change
• Liaise regularly with external suppliers including an outsourced payroll provider and employment law consultancy
• Line management of a small HR team (2 x P/T reports)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Current or recent experience of undertaking a senior HR post within a creative agency space i.e. PR, Marketing, Advertising, Comms etc. The postholder need a strong understanding of one or more of these industries and their drivers & challenges etc.
• Exposure to working for a growing SME business
• Strong commercial mindset with a proactive, ‘can-do' attitude (i.e. this role will still involve hand-on HR work & at times, an autonomous workload)
• The ability to build up strong working relationships with managers in a busy, competitive and driven culture
• Ability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, in Central London
