A career in Learning and Development, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the success of our people by developing quality and relevant learning initiatives that constantly improve the PwC experience. You’ll help us identify and source the best instructors, develop learning and performance improvement solutions across traditional and virtual classroom environments, and consult with other areas of the Firm to ensure our curriculums and initiatives support the PwC strategy.

Reporting to the Design Leader, the Non-Technical Design team leader is responsible for overseeing the development of all non-regulated LoS and firmwide training material, leading a team of approximately 16, including Senior Managers, Managers and Senior Associates (Authors).

Responsible for ensuring all non-technical training content meets the requirements of the business, that appropriate resources are allocated to ensure timely completion of training material and that the authors are skilled in the basic principles of instructional design. 

Key aspects of this role will include

  • Undertake review and quality control of all non-regulated training material to drive consistency.

  • Liaise with the Instructional Designers to ensure the training material is designed in the correct way

  • Coach and support non-technical Senior Manager and Managers on a day to day basis

  • Provide strong leadership for the wider team and bring them together on a regular basis

  • Liaise with Learning Experience team to ensure a project or course manager is allocated to oversee delivery of the training

  • Liaise with the Strategic Relationships team to ensure the output will deliver the learning objectives and meet the business requirement

  • Liaise with the curator to identify relevant content that could be included in specific learning programmes

Who we are looking for  

  • Deep technical knowledge and experience of learning design and adult learning principles

  • Expert in learning and development who is fully abreast of new thinking in the profession, with strong L&D networks

  • Experience of designing high quality blended learning solutions that will bring business benefits to PwC

  • Strong interest in quickly developing knowledge in latest learning and development methodologies

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Consulting practice and their L&D offerings (beneficial)

  • Strong analytical skills to effectively identify issues and be able to apply sound conclusions resulting in efficient and cost effective solutions

  • Commercially orientated – keep commercial aspects continually in mind when taking actions or making decisions

  • Proven ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as a track record of working professionally and collaboratively as part of a wider-team

  • Communicate confidently and effectively, at all levels, both in written and verbal form – interpersonal skills and networking are key

  • Highly energised and motivated to effect change and influence the firm’s approach to people development

  • Innovative and creative in approaching new challenges

  • Positive, ‘can do’ attitude, particularly when dealing with ambiguity

  • Experience in relationship management, including strong client handling skills – interpersonal and networking

  • Goal orientated – maintaining focus on agreed objectives and deliverables

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to see the bigger picture, identify the links between projects and foresee the overall impact on other projects within the group

  • Good understanding of web media technology and tools (video, audio)

  • Fast learner, naturally able to understand and pick up new skills and principles

  • Project management skills, ability to plan, set up a development project and drive things through to completion

  • Proactive and show initiative – making recommendations for improvement

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
