Occupational Health, Nurse

An experienced Occupational Health Nurse, you are now looking for a role that suits your life style. A role in which you can set your own days to work - giving you independence and freedom, plus the opportunity to increase your earning potential.

We are Building Health, an award-winning nurse-led occupational health provider working in the construction industry. We provide fitness for work and health surveillance for construction workers nationwide – Great Britain and Northern Ireland. We have achieved CBH accreditation and are approved to provide Crossrail OH Services. We are working towards SEQOHS. We deliver a friendly and flexible service wherever our clients are working, whenever they need us.

As our reputation for excellence has grown, so has our business. We are now looking for organised, practical and thorough professionals to join our team. As a self-employed team member, you will:

Have NMC part 1 registration (NMC part 3 would be an advantage).

Be competent in health surveillance and fitness to work assessments.

Have experience in delivery of health promotion and wellbeing initiatives.

Have experience in safety critical work environments and good knowledge of health & safety legislation.

Be available to work on a regular basis.

Own a vehicle and be willing and able to travel to work sites across the UK and stay away overnight during the week, if necessary. All overnight costs would be covered as well as you being paid whilst travelling for clinics outside the M25.

Have a smartphone, satnav and laptop and be able to use simple excel spread sheets, on line diaries, email, text and messaging apps.

This is a challenging and exciting role in which no two days will ever be the same. Working on site with provided clinical equipment, you will liaise with the site manager seeing up to 10 people a day. Here, you will take a clinical history, check blood pressure, BMI and carry out urine screening.  In addition, you will carry out vision screening (with a keystone screener); audiometry (using a amplivox screener) and spirometry testing (with a micromedical screener). Finally, you will carry out HAVS tier 1 and 2 as well as chain of custody drug and alcohol screening.

We are currently looking for nurses available for work available UK wide and also for specific contracts in the SE and SW of England.

If you would relish the opportunity to be part of our small, friendly and supportive team and would love the opportunity to take control of your career, and earning potential then this really could be the role for you.
