Oakleaf Partnership are recruiting for an experienced Senior HR Manager to join our client, a prestigious City based law firm.

The role of the HR Manager is to provide high quality, proactive advice and guidance to Business Services Directors (and their Managers) and Partners, in respect of secretaries, on all aspects of people management and HR led initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

Develop and sustain strong business relationships with key stakeholders to become a trusted advisor

Provide high quality, proactive advice and guidance to Partners, Business Services Directors and Managers on disciplinary, grievance, counselling, health and wellbeing, absence, flexible working requests and other employee relations issues which supports the effective management and development of people

Provide regular strategic management information to departments*

Ensure the structure of the Business Services Departments including secretaries is appropriate and meets the firm's business needs including, where necessary, advice and support on re-organizations, restructurings, redundancies and internal transfers *

Responsible for the implementation and smooth running of the Year-end and Mid-year review processes in relevant departments

Manage the life cycle of employees, including running induction for new employees and conducting exit interviews

Work with L&D colleagues to ensure Business Services Directors and Managers have the right skills, experience and knowledge to manage people effectively and to help and support them when gaps are identified. Facilitate and deliver L&D programmes as and when required e.g performance review training

Work with Reward and Benefits on annual salary reviews and headcount planning

Develop HR policies and procedures

Support Partners (for secretaries) and Business Services Directors in managing performance

Develop strong relationships with relevant departments, the broader HR team, the In-House Employment Lawyer and the wider firm.

Management of an HR Adviser.

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:

Qualification at graduate level and CIPD qualified

Experience of working within a professional services environment (ideally legal)

Client focus - with the ability to adapt approach and service

Good working knowledge of employment law and best practice HR management

Experience of using HR systems and management information

Ability to build strong business relationships with internal and external contacts and the resilience to deal with demanding individuals
