Oakleaf Partnership are recruiting a superb opportunity for an ER Specialist/Senior Employment Consultant to work for our client, a leading financial services business with a dynamic, innovative service focused culture.

Reporting to the Head of Employment, the team of Senior Employment Consultants work closely with aligned Divisional HR Business Partners and senior stakeholders on complex employment matters providing technical expertise and advice. Senior Employment Consultants handle challenging cases of conduct, capability and grievances where there may be an increased risk of litigation which requires mitigation.

Your role will be focused on minimising adverse reputational risk and costs by progressing outcomes in the best interests of our client. You will liaise with internal and external legal partners as required to ensure that advice is appropriate in the context of recent case law or changing employment legislation.

You will keep HR colleagues informed of status, recommendations and diagnosis of trends that may need attention. You will also work closely with the HR Consultants to understand pipeline cases that may potentially increase in complexity and therefore move into your accountability as a Senior Employment Consultant/ER Specialist.

Key Responsibilities include:

 Senior Employment Consultants will provide expert counsel, strategic planning and execution, in partnership with business and HR colleagues, in relation to a wide range of complex and often high risk people issues including employment tribunals, grievances, disciplinary, mediation, job security, complex absence cases and settlement agreements.

 This role will help maintain a positive employee relations environment including enabling management capability. This role will translate people metrics & trends into meaningful insight and provide recommendations on solutions to improve issues / hot spots.

 This role will be seen as a technical expert for high risk people issues and share knowledge with BPs on complex business change and / or high risk people issues.

 Postholders will gather detailed, pertinent information by conducting investigations, interpreting findings, preparing documentation association with employment claims and document & track disciplinary actions taken for corrective action, absence and performance management and organizational changes.

 Senior Employment Consultants will play an active role in the planning and implementation of key people initiatives identified as an organisation or in Divisional People Plans such as culture change, & Banking Reform.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

 Circa 5+ years' experience of employee relations issues including managing and influencing complex people issues (applicants with more or less relevant experience may still be considered)

 In depth technical knowledge and application of employment law

 Experience of liaising and managing external relationships and senior internal relationships with ddemonstrable command skills and an ability to influence others

 Proven ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with line managers and HR colleagues

 Shows Planning and Prioritisation skills including previous project management experience

 Ability to analyse data and make appropriate recommendations for action

 Proven communication skills including presentation, training and delivery skills
