Westminster City Council

£32,592 - £46,347

About Us

Our role at Westminster City Council is simple – we are committed to supporting the incredible multicultural communities and businesses that exist within the vicinity. Home to iconic destinations such as Buckingham Palace, The Houses of Parliament and Covent Garden, we believe that Westminster is the true heart of London. With a 24/7 social scene, a thriving commercial heart and more than one million people passing through our streets every day, we are committed to providing exceptional public services and assistance to Westminster’s residents, workers and tourists.

The Role

If you are keen to progress your career in HR, then this is the perfect role for you. Our ambition is to be a world class, outward looking, modern, ambitious and innovative council and this means recruiting, retaining and developing excellent, engaged people.  You will help us create a great place to work by delivering projects relating to the annual performance reward process, pay reviews and benchmarking, wellbeing and benefits. You will review our current offerings to ensure they are in-line with industry expectations and develop initiatives to help our employees find a great work/life balance. You will also be instrumental in delivering management information (such as the gender pay-gap) to help council-wide decision-making processes.

About You

To make the most of this exciting role, you will have experience of delivering projects in complex organisations. Some HR experience would be preferable, particularly an understanding of operational HR, and rewards and benefits. With outstanding organisational and multitasking skills, you will be an outstanding communicator – someone who can build relationships with colleagues and outsourced partners. Resourceful, with the capacity to work independently, you will produce detailed and accurate outputs, so you will also need to have good numerical and written skills.

What We Offer

Supporting the needs of our employees, we offer an agile environment with flexible working options. When you join us, you can expect good career progression, with plenty of training and development opportunities. Further enhanced by a welcoming atmosphere where we encourage our people to be productive, ambitious, collaborative and enterprising, your opinions and goals matter to us. So if you share our ambition to deliver a true ‘City for All’, then we would encourage you to apply for this career-defining position.

If you’re as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, right in the heart of iconic Westminster, a true ‘City for All’. This is a unique place where it all happens. And where it could all happen for you.

As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen on working in an agile environment with flexible conditions.
