Head of HR

Ashley Kate HR are pleased to be working in partnership with a market leading logistics business who are looking for a Head of HR to join the business on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an SME who are market leaders in their field and pride themselves on having achieved this success whilst keeping a true family feel with their employees at the heart of everything they do. This is an excellent position for someone who puts engagement and service at the forefront, whilst having an entrepreneurial flair to truly add value across the business.

Reporting into the Managing Director you will be a vital part of the senior leadership team helping the business progress by focusing on their people. Supported by an experienced HR Administrator you will be instrumental in developing them in their HR career as well as working closely with operational managers in all areas of the business. With sites across the UK, travel will be required, but you will determine the level of this and balance this with time at your base to ensure good relationships are built and the culture is fluid throughout the business.

This is a full generalist role and a great mix of strategy and being a true operator in the heart of the business. You will ideally have a proven background in the logistics arena and you must have high levels of personal integrity mixed with a strong commercial understanding. You will need to be logical in your approach to projects and support positive cultural change. You must be able to demonstrate that you have influenced at Board level and have also built strong relationships with unions.

Head of HR - About you
·You will need to be educated to Degree Level and have Level 7 CIPD or equivalent
·Proven background working at an Executive level
·A background in Logistics and Distribution will be highly advantageous
·Exceptional at building relationships, communication & excellent leadership skills
·Strong working knowledge of employment law
·Prior involvement in influencing executive & senior managers
