Assistant Site Accountant

Ashley Kate UK are pleased to be partnered with a leading UK Food Manufacturer who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their site in Leicestershire.

The company is part of a larger European group and employs approximately 2000 people in the UK over multiple sites. Internal promotion leads an excellent opportunity for someone to join the business on a Temporary or Fixed Term Contract for 3 to 6 months initially. This is a superb opportunity for great personal development and career progression.

Reporting into the onsite Accountant, this role offers a lot of variety and ideally, the client is seeking someone from a FMCG and Manufacturing background who is used to a fast-paced environment.

The responsibilities in this role include;

·Complete accurate and timely product costings
·Complete and review site KPI's
·Attend daily/weekly operations meetings and assist in performance review
·Understand and investigate production variances
·Assist in site budget and forecasting and report to Management
·Track cost centres against budget
·Assist in stock control and attend quarterly stock takes
·Assist with year-end audit and work to deadlines
·Provide transfer prices for Inter-Company
·Assist with month end duties
·Maintain fixed asset schedule
·Provide constructive challenge to Manufacturing and Supply Chain and drive improvements


The ideal candidate will be part or fully qualified in CIMA or ACCA and should have good general accounts experience. You should have good knowledge of accountancy software packages and be a skilled Microsoft Excel champion.

The salary is £30-35,000 pro rata depending on experience.
