Role Purpose
To lead on the further development of effective workforce planning and recruitment strategies to meet the needs of a growing organisation ensuring the right people are recruited at the right time with the right skills, knowledge and competencies.
You will lead and guide the priorities of those responsible for recruitment within the HR Team.
Maintain an overview of all recruitment undertaken, produce reports and statistics as required focussing on recruitment and retention – make recommendations for change
Design and implement improved, creative and effective recruitment processes aligned to the Resourcing Strategy
Ensure that assessments centres and open days to source candidates and increase the employer brand awareness are an integral part of the annual recruitment plan
Review job titles, job descriptions / and person specifications for roles making recommendations in support of improved recruitment opportunities
Ensure that onboarding and induction is undertaken in a way that immediately engages and supports new starters
Devise and implement new initiatives such as an apprenticeship scheme with a view to increasing diversity in the workforce, working with the ALT’s where appropriate
Working with those responsible for Communications and Marketing to strengthen the employer brand and talent attraction strategies, promoting the business as an employer of choice
Oversee the use of recruitment agencies, develop preferred supplier lists and monitor spend to maximise return on investment
Work in line with agreed budgets
Where appropriate and for more specialist or senior roles work with recruiting managers to shape selection processes and where appropriate conduct final stage interviews with candidates
Ensure all recruitment activities and the candidate life-cycle are underpinned by our Values, and adhere to the requirements of Safer Recruitment and Safeguarding
Undertake in-depth review of selection methodologies, making recommendations for and implementing change
Determine staffing needs and produce forecast and hiring plans
Lead a team of technical recruiters and partner closely with Senior Business leaders and give guidance on building talent pools and leading through changing market conditions
Design and execute an effective and scalable sourcing strategy
Lead the team to build quality talent pipelines, and drive sourcing strategy recommendations for critical technical roles
Design, plan and execute selection processes (conduct interviews and screening calls, administer applications and background checks etc.)
Determine recruiting KPI’s and SLA’s and provide thought leadership, set benchmarks, analyze data/metrics (time-to-hire, cost-to-hire)
Create, implement and maintain recruitment, employee referral, vendor selection, contract management policies and processes
Liaise regularly with the global resourcing head and head of HR to agree and align recruitment strategy with vision of the company
Accountability of contract management – Renewal, Termination, New contract
Liaise with Legal for industry standard terms and for any change requests on the terms from suppliers
Negotiate the terms, commercials with the employment services/business serviced agencies
Produce weekly/monthly reports on volume, pipeline and cost and support on various other management reports
Research and implement new ways of recruiting, automate systems and processes in line with GDPR
Research market trends, offerings from competition and keep up to date with the changes in the laws – labour laws, IR35 etc.
Own and be accountable for the background checks (BPSS) across the business
Liaise with the third party for BV checks periodically and address/streamline any issues
Conduct regular performance reviews of the suppliers
Suggest measures for improving employee retention by researching other organisations
Organize and/or attend career fairs, assessment centres or other events
Advise hiring managers on interviewing techniques
Recommend ways to improve our employer brand
Working with others in the HR Team, ensure that exit interview data is captured, analysed and factored appropriately into recruitment & retention strategies.
Manage experienced Recruitment Specialists who are focussed on recruitment operations across services
Maintain up to date knowledge of, and developments affecting, the relevant external jobs market – in the sector
