Wellcome is undergoing a period of exciting growth, with consequently positive changes to the People function and to Reward.

This new role requires an experienced person to act as a true business partner and to contribute towards a professional, collegiate and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Head of Reward, you will be responsible for Compensation and Recognition and will act as a trusted adviser and Subject Matter Expert across Wellcome.

  • Help shape, deliver and manage the overall Wellcome Reward strategy,
  • Provide accurate and timely information for regulatory reporting and support governance requirements (e.g. Remuneration Committee)
  • Provide advice on all compensation and recognition issues, including market trends, compensation structures in established and new ventures, recognition drivers.
  • Manage the provision of compensation and recognition services to all divisions, including job evaluation, pay benchmarking, annual pay review cycle, short, medium and long-term recognition
  • Work in close collaboration with the People Services unit on operational excellence and Reward processes, practices and procedures
  • Manage one Reward Analyst providing performance management and supporting their personal and professional development.
  • Support the implementation of Workday Compensation Modules and manage on-going technological requirements

    Essential

  • Client-facing experience in compensation programmes (job evaluation and benchmarking; career level structures; pay architecture design; short- and long-term incentives; annual pay review).
  • Experience in designing, implementing and managing effective recognition programmes
  • Desirable

  • Previous experience of implementing Workday Advanced Compensation module
  • Experience in creating Tableau dashboards
  • Experience in line management
  • Skills:

    Essential

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Comfortable preparing, discussing and presenting materials (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Advanced Excel skills and data modelling / dashboards analytics capability

  • Specialist Reward Training (CIPD or others)
