Assistant Project Manager, up to £32,259 + benefits, Portishead Bristol. 12 month fixed term contract.

Your new role

We have exciting opportunities to join the constabulary transformation and change portfolio in Assistant Project Managers positions. The portfolio currently includes a range of projects and programmes aligned to organisation's four key strategies: Service, People, Infrastructure and Digital.

In this pivotal role you'll utilise a range of methodologies to coordinate and support change in a range of settings. You'll be working flexibly across the programmes as required - therefore, you can expect varied and interesting work. Importantly, you will be focused on supporting change that delivers tangible business benefits to ensure the provision of an outstanding service to local communities.


What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for Assistant Project Managers with a solid understanding of the whole project lifecycle. Ideally, you have a breadth of experience in a similar role coupled with a proactive and driven approach which enables to change delivery. You must demonstrate a good understanding of industry standard change methodologies, associated tools and documentation (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile - but not necessarily married to one). Naturally, you'll need to be well-versed in co-ordinating project activities and resources in a complex environment. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) as well as proven track record of managing and influencing stakeholders are essential for success. You need to be innovative, communicative and collaborative in your approach to every problem.

We're keen to hear from candidates with generic project management experience, as well as those with a specialism - in particular, those with experience in delivering or supporting estates or technical / IT projects.

Please note: vetting is essential to commence this post and employment offers are all subject to security checks.

This role will be largely based at the impressive headquarters in Portishead (with secure parking and on-site facilities) but the ability to travel freely around the force area is essential.
