Your new company

You will be working for a large public sector organisation with a headcount of circa 500 staff based in the Barrow area. Due to a significant increase in workload and change, the client is now looking to recruit for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team for a fixed term basis with a possibility of going permanent for the right candidate.

Your new role

The scope of the role will oversee the provision of employee relations, projects as well as full operational support to the wider HR team, including but not restricted to: Supporting and advising line managers on employee relations issues, supporting workforce strategy, looking to facilitate the implementation of equality and diversity in the workplace through the implementation of appropriate systems and communication with staff. You will also create, manage and maintain systems, contracts and other employee data in line with organisation and HR Policies and Procedures, looking at recruitment methodology whilst providing a comprehensive HR support, leading investigations and giving 1st line advice.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will be a CIPD qualified professional, having worked within a similar capacity previously with an up-to-date knowledge of employment law. You will have demonstrable experience with leading investigations and managing your own caseload. You will be a HR generalist with exposure to strategic HR, well versed in employee relations, and highly competent with systems.

What you'll get in return

The client is offering a fixed term contract equivalent of £27000 but is open to hourly or day rates depending on candidate preference with the possibility of going permanent as well as access to public sector benefits.
